SEO
(Search Engine Optimisation) & Online Marketing Services
There are now so many SEO & Online Marketing
activities and tasks needed to make your online presence a
success I thought that it would make sense to list them so
that you have a better understanding of what can be done and
what I specialise in doing:
Search
Engine Optimisation (SEO)
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving
the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search
engines via "natural" ("organic" or
"algorithmic") search results for targeted keywords.
As a marketing strategy for increasing a site's relevance,
SEO considers how search algorithms work and what people
search for. SEO efforts may involve a site's coding, presentation,
and structure, as well as fixing problems that could prevent
search engine indexing programs from fully spidering a site.
Other, more noticeable efforts may include adding unique
content to a site, ensuring that content is easily indexed
by search engine robots, and making the site more appealing
to users.
Search Engine Submission
Search engine submission is how a web site is directly submitted
to a search engine. Generally, the major search engines
like Google, Yahoo, and MSN use crawlers, bots, and spiders
that will eventually find a website all by themselves. However,
there are several reasons to submit a web site or web page
to a search engine. The first reason would be to add an
entirely new web site because waiting for a search engine
to discover it could take valuable time when the submission
can be done instantly. The second reason is to have a web
page or web site updated in the respective search engine
and the third reason is that quite often a website that
has not been submitted to all the major search engines may
be loosing valuable visitors by it not being idexed by all
of the serach engines.
Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising
Pay per click (PPC) is an advertising model used on search
engines, advertising networks, and content websites/blogs,
where advertisers only pay when a user actually clicks on
an ad to visit the advertiser's website. Advertisers bid
on keywords they predict their target market will use as
search terms when they are looking for a product or service.
When a user types a keyword query matching the advertiser's
keyword list, or views a page with relevant content, the
advertiser's ad may be shown. These ads are called a "Sponsored
link" or "sponsored ads" and appear next
to or above the "natural" or organic results on
search engine results pages, or anywhere a webmaster/blogger
chooses on a content page.
Pay per click ads may also appear on content network websites.
In this case, ad networks such as Google AdSense and Yahoo!
Publisher Network attempt to provide ads that are relevant
to the content of the page where they appear, and no search
function is involved. While many companies exist in this
space, Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, and Microsoft
adCenter are the largest network operators as of 2007. Minimum
prices per click, often referred to as Costs Per Click (CPC),
vary depending on the search engine, with some as low at
$0.01. Very popular search terms can cost much more on popular
engines.
Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing — using one site to drive traffic
to another — is a form of online marketing, which
is frequently overlooked by advertisers. While search engines,
e-mail and RSS capture much of the attention of online retailers,
affiliate marketing carries a much lower profile. Still,
affiliates continue to play a significant role in e-retailers'
marketing strategies.
Affiliate marketing is a web-based marketing practice in
which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each
visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's marketing
efforts. Affiliate marketing overlaps with other internet
marketing methods to some degree, because affiliates often
use regular advertising methods. Those methods include organic
search engine optimization, paid search engine marketing,
email marketing and in some sense display advertising. On
the other hand, affiliates sometimes use less orthodox techniques
like publishing reviews of products or services offered
by a partner.
Sales Pages / Mini Sites
A Sales page or Mini site is a small Web site with a narrow
subject focus or few pages that is sometimes a section in
a larger Web site. Typically, a minisite has a separate
identity and has a specific subject or product as the main
subject area. A Mini site is a great way of not only promoting
a specific product or products but is also an effective
way of capturing potential customers via special offers
and free give aways etc.
Web Content Optimisation
Content is king not only for Search Engine
Optimisation purposes but also for building one way links
(when sites link to yours because of your sites content)
and most importantly giving your visitors good quality,
useful information about your subject or products. Web Content
Optimisation as I call it is when I take the content of
your website and make it as keyword rich (but still informative
and relevent) as I can.
Email / Newsletter Marketing
Email / Newsletter marketing is a form of direct marketing
which uses electronic mail as a means of communicating a
commercial or promotional messages to an audience. In its
broadest sense, every email sent to a potential or current
customer could be considered email marketing. However, the
term is usually used to refer to:
- Sending emails with the purpose of enhancing the relationship
of a merchant with its current or old customers and to encourage
customer loyalty and repeat business.
- Sending emails with the purpose of acquiring new customers
or convincing old customers to buy something immediately.
- Adding advertisements in emails sent by other companies
to their customers.
Email marketing can be a very effective (and cost effective)
means of gaining new business and/or sales.
Online Press Release Submission
An Online news release, media release, press release or
press statement is a written or recorded communication directed
at members of the news media for the purpose of announcing
something claimed as having news value. Typically, it is
mailed, faxed, or e-mailed to assignment editors at newspapers,
magazines, radio stations, television stations, and/or television
networks. However, it is now possible to submit a press
release online which is then distributed to the "press"
(for a fee) and is listed on press release websites. The
main advantage of this not only from the standard PR value
is that many PR websites are well ranked in the search engines
and when the press release is written with specific Keywords
in mind it is possible to get excellent keyword positioning
for the release due to the strength of the PR website itself.
Again, a very effective way of marketing your business,
products and special offers on the web.
Live Support Solutions
Live Support / Live chat software is the cost effective
tool that helps you sell your product online and give superior
customer support service. With just the click of the mouse,
your web site visitors can contact your support team for
live assistance through Provide Support's live chat system.
Live support bridges the gap between email and phone. In
my opinion Live Support is a must for any eCommerce website
or business that relies heavily from online business.
Link Building
Link building is a pretty general term used to describe
anything you do to build links to a website. There are two
primary reasons to build links; Direct Click-Through Traffic,
and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). There is two main
types of links:
- Reciprocal Link: A reciprocal link is a mutual link between
two objects, commonly between two websites to ensure mutual
traffic. Reciprocal linking between websites is an important
part of the search engine optimization process because Google
uses link popularity algorithms (defined as the number of
links that led to a particular page and the anchor text
of the link) to rank websites for relevancy.
- One way link: A One way link is a term used among webmasters
for link building methods. It is a hyperlink that points
to a website without any reciprocal link; thus the link
goes "one way" in direction. One Way Link are
seen as more valuable in Google's eyes because your site
is seen to be 'of value' because a site is linking to you
but there is no reciprocal link in return. The other advantage
of one way links is that you don't have to link back to
anything. This way you are avoiding linking to bad neighborhoods
which could in turn get you banned from Google.
.
Autoresponder Solutions
An autoresponder is an e-mail utility that automatically
replies to an e-mail message with a prewritten response
when that e-mail comes into a specific e-mail or Internet
address.
Autoresponders are used by individuals and also by Web sites
that need to respond to user comments automatically. The
standard use of an auto responder for example is an individual
may use an autoresponder feature of e-mail to inform the
sender that he has gone on holiday and will not be replying
personally to e-mails until he returns to the office. A
business may use an autoresponder in response to a newsletter
subscription request to verify the opt-in or subscription
cancellation or to indicate to the sender that a user comment
was received. However, Autorepsonders can be used in a more
sales and marketing way. There is autoresponder software
available now which enables a website to set up a pre-defined
campaign so that once an enquire is made there will be a
set number of responses/offers sent over a specific period
of time - enabling you to remain in contact with the potential
customer automatically which in turn can increase sales
or sign ups.
Blogging
A blog (an abridgment of the term web log)
is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with
regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or
other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly
displayed in reverse chronological order.
Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject;
others function as more personal online diaries. A typical
blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web
pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability
for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is
an important part of many blogs. The big advantage of a
Blog is that they are indexed well by search engines and
by writing your own content for the blog you can enhance
your serahc engine positioning and in turn link back to
your main website.

specifically and how I can improve it from an SEO &
Online Marketing perspective please feel free to contact
